Filipino swimmer Miguel Molina, 2005 Southeast Asian Games Best Male Athlete, yielded the honor to Pacquiao, upon the request of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the national sports officials on the Philippines.[1]

On May 13, 2010, Pacquiao was officially proclaimed and took oath of office as congressman before Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio T.   • 1st ever boxer inducted to the Elorde Sports Foundation's Elorde Boxing Hall of Fame, during the 8th Gabriel "Flash" Elorde Boxing Awards and Banquet of Champions night on March 25, 2008 at the Manila Hotel.
